New Delhi, Feb 7: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Friday demanded strict action against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for using 'indecent and highly impolite' language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in the national capital on Wednesday.
Talking to reporters in the Lok Sabha premises, Mr Joshi said Mr Gandhi, who has crossed all limits of decency, is conspiring to cane the Prime Minister. According to Mr Joshi, Mr Gandhi belonged to a party, which was ruling several states in coalition.
The grand old party was made to bite the dust in general elections by the people of the country. The party has good experience of 'caning,' he remarked. He should not have stooped to such a level, while talking about the Prime Minister, who came to power with an astounding majority for a second term, Mr Joshi said. In a rally in the national capital on Wednesday, Mr Gandhi had said that youth of the country will beat Mr Modi with sticks in the next six months, if he does not talk about unemployment.
The statement led to chaos in the Lok Sabha on Friday, with the members of the ruling dispensation engaging in a verbal duel with the Opposition members. This led to adjournment of the House till 1pm by Speaker Om Birla. (UNI)
