New Delhi, Feb 7: Charging Health Minister Harshvardhan of trampling on the rights of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to raise an issue during the Question hour, the party on Friday said that the Minister should express regret for his ‘unpardonable’ behaviour.
Addressing media persons here along with senior spokesperson Anand Sharma, Congress leader and leader of the party in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chaudhry said, ‘after having got an opportunity to raise a Question during the Question hour in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of lack of medical facilities for the people of his parliamentary constituency of Wayanad.
However, the Minister, instead of answering his question, started accusing Mr. Gandhi of making a statement outside the house. That statement of Mr Gandhi did not have any relevance to the issue raise by him in the Question Hour. So, we protested to the Speaker on the way in which the minister was deliberately trying to suppress Rahul’s right and privilege as a member. ‘’ Mr. Chaudhry said that some members of the Congress got agitated over the Minister’s behaviour as the right of Mr. Rahul Gandhi as a member was being trampled on.
