New Delhi, Feb 5 : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Wednesday welcomed the announcement of the formation of a trust for the construction of a grand temple at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The construction should be done according to the design and architecture prepared decades ago and every Hindu in the world should participate in it, the Parishad demanded. Addressing a press conference here, VHP's international working president Alok Kumar said now a meeting should be called as soon as possible and the date for starting the temple construction should be fixed.
The temple should be constructed in accordance with the 'Vastu chitra' made nearly 30 years ago, which is engraved on the hearts of the devotees from all over the country, Mr Kumar added. He said in the Ram Ram Janmabhoomi movement, stones were collected from three lakh villages and the stones and pillars were carved in a workshop.
A total of about Rs 1.25 billion donation was received from the country, which should be used for the construction of the temple, the VHP international working president noted. ''A small amount should be taken from Hindus around the world for the construction of the temple and for the funds and everyone should be given a chance to join hands in Karseva,'' he added.(UNI)
