New Delhi, Feb 5 : Demanding citizenship to Rohingyas from Myanmar, Samajwadi Party lawmaker Ram Gopal Yadav on Wednesday asked the Government to suspend the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and said that the Muslims, who have been engaged in making the country beautiful, should not be looked down upon, with mistrust.
Participating in the debate on 'Motion of Thanks' on the President's address in the Upper House, Mr Yadav further said that this Government talks about 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas (….),' but it's own leaders do not trust this Government.
Demanding the suspension of CAA immediately, the SP lawmaker asked the Government that all prosecuted persons, irrespective of their religion, should be given citizenship, including the Rohingyas from Myanmar. Urging the Government to have a liberal approach, Mr Yadav said the entire community cannot be mistrusted, due to some acts of wrongheaded persons.(UNI)
