New Delhi, Feb 5: Three days ahead of Delhi elections, Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday 'invited' Union Home Minister Amit Shah to have an open debate with him on what all they have done for the national capital in the past five years.
Addressing the mediapersons, Mr. Kejriwal said, “What have you done for Delhi in the past 5 years? Come, let's have an open debate.' Mr. Kejriwal questioned the BJP's appeal to the voter to elect them on February 8. "People of Delhi have already voted you for Article 370 and Ram Mandir but what have you done for Delhi. Why should people vote for you?" he said.
Lashing out at BJP on '#AAPShaheenGunmanLink', Mr Kejriwal said,"People of Delhi want to know that why have you not taken any action on Shaheen Bagh till now. They want you to show proof that I am a 'terrorist'. Punish the gunman even if he is AAP's member.' Mr Kejriwal countered BJP’s attack over his party’s alleged links with Kapil Gujjar, the man who opened fire at the Shaheen Bagh protest site this week.
"Our country is the best in the world, but our system is flawed. I don't know which party is he from. There can be no compromise when it comes to the security of the nation. I would like to appeal to the Home Minister not to do politics on national security. If Shaheen Bagh shooter has any AAP link, he should be jailed for 20 years instead of 10. He should be sent to jail no matter whichever party he belongs to,' he said. On the Government's decision to set up Teertha Kshetra Trust for Ram temple at Ayodhya, Mr Kejriwal said that he does not have any problems with Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing a trust for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Delhi will be casting its vote in the Assembly Elections exactly three days from now on February 8. (UNI)
