New Delhi, Feb 5: BJP lawmaker Bhupendra Yadav on Wednesday expressed his concern over criminalisation of politics and sought Government intervention for a free and fair election in Delhi.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha , Mr Yadav said the electioneering is on for Delhi Assembly polls and the Election Commission has already issued an advisory to all its officials in this regard. He further pointed out that a political party has served a legal notice to a Delhi Police officer who identified an accused in a firing incident in Delhi.
“Sending a legal notice to a police officer who investigated a firing incident and identified the arrested criminal is absolutely incorrect and the Government and administration should not be blamed without proofs during during the election”, Mr Yadav said. This party, in a press conference, has also expressed apprehension of violence three days ago he added.
Mr Yadav was referring to a particular party without naming it but Congress lawmaker Ms Viplove Thakur objected to it. At this, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu intervened saying the objection by Congress Member will not go on record. (UNI)
