New Delhi, Feb 4 : Supporting the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), JD(U) member Rajiv Ranjan Singh on Tuesday questioned the opposition on the new law.
Taking part in the debate in the Lok Sabha on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address to Parliament, the JD(U) member, without taking names, said no one had opposed the Bill when it was introduced in Parliament, then why this hostility now. ''Misleading information is being spread on the CAA,'' he said.
''Why NRC, which has not even come into existence, is being linked to CAA,'' he wondered.
Referring to the Union Government's slogan of "Sabka saath, sabka vikaas, sabka vishwaas", he demanded a special package and a special status for Bihar. Mr Singh also demanded a caste-based census in the country. National Conference member Hasnain Masoodi also took part in the debate.(UNI)
