New Delhi, Feb 4 : Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon on Tuesday amid uproar by Opposition members over BJP member Anant Hegde's objectionable comments on Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr Hegde had recently kicked up a controversy after he questioned the freedom movement led by Gandhi and described it as an "adjustment" with the British rulers, drawing sharp criticism from the Opposition. Soon after Speaker Om Birla read out the obituary references, the Opposition members created a ruckus over the issue.
Following the uproar, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1200 hrs. Proceedings in the Lok Sabha was stalled on Monday during the Question Hour by the Opposition parties led by Congress over Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), NPR and NRC issues. UNI
