New Delhi, Feb 3 : India on Monday confirmed third positive case of novel Coronavirus from the state of Kerala. This patient, too, has a travel history from Wuhan in China, like previous two cases.
According to health ministry, the patient has been kept in the isolation ward of a hospital and is currently stable. Over 1,900 people are under surveillance at their homes in Kerala for possible exposure to the virus. Seventy people are being monitored in isolation wards of hospitals across the state. In view of the danger of outbreak of Coronavirus, the government has decided to check the health of every person who has come from China after January 15 and has asked those traveling from China to stay in their house for 14 days.
Notably, novel Coronavirus -- 2019-nCoV -- which was first detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan has now spread to 25 countries around the world. The death toll in China has risen to 361 as total number of confirmed cases of infection has reached 17,205 with a further 21,558 suspected cases being monitored. (UNI)
