New Delhi, Feb 2 : Urging Election Commission to ban Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from campaigning in the Delhi assembly polls for his alleged hate speech during a rally, the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday demanded that the Mr Adityanath should be immediately arrested.
"Issueless and leaderless BJP plans to spoil the elections in Delhi. The problems created during the election campaigns testify this. Two union ministers sowed the seeds of hatred and violence in Delhi. Influenced by these leaders, their followers brought guns to Delhi and fired at people", AAP senior leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh said in a press conference here at the party headquarters. "From Uttar Pradesh, a fanatic has come to Delhi.
What all abusive and divisive contents, he is delivering? He said Arvind Kejriwal is connected to Pakistan. We don't know how BJP leaders get all information about Pakistan. If what Yogi speaks is right, it should be proven. Otherwise he should desist from talking such nonsense", Singh said. "In order to apprise the situation to Election Commission, we asked for time to meet the commission day before yesterday. Till now no response we received.
It is very unfortunate that BJP derails the poll discourse in Delhi, but Election Commision silently watches it. EC doesn't take stock of the situation properly", he added. Mr Singh said that they are writing to the EC and attaching a CD of Mr Adityanath's speeches. "The EC can't remain indifferent to this grave issue. It is the misuse of democratic and constitutional institutions" he pointed out. (UNI)
