New Delhi,Feb 1: With a modest increase of Rs 2,042 crore, the Union Home Ministry was allocated Rs 1,05,244.34 crore in the Union Budget for the next fiscal 2020-21, presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman , with the largest share going to the para-military forces.
The Home Ministry was allocated Rs to Rs 1,03,202.23 crore in the year 2019-20. While the paramilitary forces get the biggest slice of the cake of Rs 92054.53 crore,the Union Budget has also also allocated Rs 4,278 crore for the ongoing census 2021. Rs 1,126.62 crore have been allocated for relief on account of natural calamities and Rs 842.45 crore for social security and other welfare schemes run by the Home Ministry. (UNI)
