New Delhi, Jan 30: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday instructed the Delhi Police Commissioner to take stringent action against the culprit who was brandishing a revolver and fired on the protesters at Jamia Milia Islamia.
The Minister said in his tweet. “I have spoken to the Delhi Police Commissioner on the firing incident that has taken place in Delhi and asked him to take stringent action against the accused person.”
The Central Government will not tolerate any such incident, this will be taken seriously and the culprits will not be spared, the Home Minister said in his micro-blogging site. On Thursday, a man identified as Gopal, brandishing a pistol in the air, opened fire at the protesters demonstrating against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NPR) near Jamia Millia Islamia in south Delhi on Thursday, injuring a student.(UNI)
