Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra was on Tuesday barred from flying with IndiGo for six months after he heckled TV presenter Arnab Goswami on board a Mumbai-Lucknow flight.
The Indigo airlines authorities said the artist’s behaviour on flight 6E 5317 was “unacceptable”.
Soon after IndiGo banned him, aviation minister Hardeep Puri said offensive behaviour meant to provoke and create disturbance inside an aircraft is “absolutely unacceptable”.
He added it endangers the safety of other travellers. The minister also advised other airlines to impose a similar ban on the comedian.
Knowing about the six-month ban, the comedian said in a tweet that airline’s action as “kind”.
