Pakistan uses “terror as state policy” against India: Rajnath

Agency News

New Delhi, Jan 28 : Urging South Asian nations to unite to defeat terrorism in the region, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday attacked Pakistan for using "terror as a state policy" against India. However, Mr Singh vouched for settling disputes through dialogue. Pakistan must take demonstrable steps against terror groups, the Defence Minister said.

Addressing the 12th South Asia conference, Mr Singh said that it is essential that terrorists and their ideological and financial networks are cut off and do not receive any state support. Mumbai, Pathankot, Uri, and Pulwama attacks are grim reminders of state-sponsored terrorism by a neighbouring country.

“India is engaged in conversations with its neighbours except one country in order to develop a joint approach for regional peace and security,” he said. “True pathway to regional peace and security lies in understanding each other's sensitivities and following basic principles of non-interference in each other's internal affairs,” the minister added. "Pakistan must take demonstrable steps against terror groups," Mr Singh said. (UNI)
