New Delhi, Jan 28 : Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has sought a report from the returning officer of the National Capital's Rithala Assembly constituency in connection with a poll rally on Monday by Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur in which he allegedly encouraged the crowd in raising "controversial' slogan against anti-CAA protestors.
'We have taken cognisance of the incident and sought a report from the returning officer of the Delhi's Rithala Assembly constituency,' an official in the Delhi CEO Office said. Opposition CPI(M) and Congress on Monday slammed Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur for allegedly encouraging the crowd in raising "controversial' slogans against anti-CAA protestors during the BJP's election rally here ahead of February 8 Delhi Assembly polls.
The video, which has surfaced on social media, shows the Union Minister of State for Finance at the poll rally in Delhi, encouraging the crowd to raise the 'controversial slogan' against the antiCAA agitators. (UNI)
