A senior IAS officer Ashwini Bhide as the MD of MMRC was firmly stood for the implementation of Aarey Car shed project has been transferred by the Maharashtra Government.
Ashwini Bhide was promoted earlier this month as principal secretary for standing at the forefront of implementing the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro 3 project (Aarey Car shed).
But after the Shiv Sena-led government took over power in Maharashtra, Sena prince Aaditya Thackeray had decided to stop Aarey Car shed project as the project will have an environmental impact wiping out large number of trees. As the state environment minister and son of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray had publicly demanded her removal.
Now it is learnt that Ashwini Bhide will be replaced by Ranjit Singh Deol, the current vice-chairman and managing director of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) as the MD.
