New Delhi, Jan 18 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Rajendra Pal Gautam and Imran Hussain on Saturday filed their nomination papers from Seemapuri and Ballimaran constituencies, respectively, for the February 8 Delhi Assembly polls.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Social Welfare minister Mr Gautam said, 'Thanks to all my supporters, well-wishers and AAP team. I love you Seemapuri.' Mr Gautam held a road show and filed the nomination from Seemapuri Vidhan Sabha along with thousands of supporters. Taking to Twitter, Delhi's Food & Civil Supplies minister Mr Hussain said, 'Took the blessings of my family before filing nomination.'
Elections will be held in Delhi on February 8 to elect 70 members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The results will be declared on February 11. AAP has dropped 15 of its sitting MLAs and added 24 new faces in total, including unsuccessful 2019 Lok Sabha candidates Atishi, Dilip Pandey and Raghav Chadha. In the 2015 polls, while the AAP bagged 67 of 70 seats, the BJP got three. (UNI)
