New Delhi, Jan 10: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice after hearing a petition filed by the Union government to transfer all Public Interest Litigations against the Citizenship Amendment Act pending in various HCs to itself.
Headed by Chief Justice of India S A Bobde, the bench also admitted for consideration several other petitions against the constitutional validity of CAA. Notices were earlier issued by the Apex Court on more than 60 petitions.
It agreed to examine the Centre's plea to transfer CAA cases to itself from all other High Courts.
While issuing notices to various petitioners in state HCs, Apex Court said these will also come up on January 22 along with other pending matters. (UNI)
