PM condoles demise of Nagaland Assembly Speaker

Yhoshu New Delhi, Dec 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed anguish and condoled the death of Nagaland Assembly Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshu.

Th 67-year-old Yhoshu died on Monday at a hospital in Mumbai after prolonged illness and battling lung cancer. "Anguished by the demise of the Speaker of Nagaland's Assembly Vikho-o Yhoshu. He was a diligent leader who devoted his life towards the progress of Nagaland. My thoughts are with his family and supporters in these moments of sadness," the Prime Minister tweeted. "May his soul rest in peace," Mr Modi wrote.

The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) leader elected from the Southern AngamiI Assembly constituency and has held various responsibilities like – Adviser, IT & TE, Chairman, Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Mechanical Division of PWD and as the Speaker of state Assembly since 2018.
