New Delhi, Dec 12 : Expressing concern over the hunger strike by Delhi Commission For Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal over women's safety, AAP MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday said the demands being raised by her are genuine and the Centre should fix the police's accountability in solving such cases through a digital system.
Raising the matter during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Mr Singh said,' Ms Maliwal is demanding that convicts should be hanged in the Nirbhaya case. Also, the number of police personnel is less, so there number should be increased.'
The number of fast track courts should be increased for solving rape cases and the Nirbhaya fund set aside for women in distress should be used meticulously, he demanded. Mr Singh also urged the Government to come forward to put an end to Ms Maliwal's hunger strike. (UNI)
