New Delhi, Nov 26: Hours after the Supreme Court ordered a floor test in Maharashtra Assembly tomorrow, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday expressed confidence that the Sena-NCP-Congress alliance will win the battle.
"Absolutely", Ms Gandhi responded to a question by mediapersons that whether her party is confident of winning the Wednesday's floor test. (We are) "confident we will win floor test", the Congress president added.
Ms Gandhi was talking to media persons outside the Parliament House after the Opposition parties protested against the Narendra Modi government for its 'undemocratic functioning and unconstitutional acts'. The Congress president and former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had read out the Preamble of the Constitution during the protest of opposition parties, in front of the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked Maharashtra government to do the floor test in the Assembly, after the Congress, Shiv Sena and NCP had approached the apex court against the state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyary's decision to appoint BJP's Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Minister and NCP's Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister.
