New Delhi, Nov 25: Dismissing the speculation that he is leaving Congress party, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday said that the rumours are baseless and he is still with the party.
The controversy erupted after a section of media reported that Mr. Scindia had scrapped his party's name and changed his twitter bio as “public servant and cricket enthusiast”. Earlier his twitter profile was “Former member of Parliament, former Minister for power, MoS [Minister of State] commerce and industry; MoS [Minister of State] communications, IT [information technology] and post”.
Responding to media reports, the former Guna MP responded that he has changed the bio a month ago and added that the controversies are 'ridiculous'. "Ridiculous commotion over a twitter profile change done almost a month ago", Mr Scindia tweeted.
According to media reports, Mr Scindia has also said that he has done the changes by 'people's advice to shorten the bio'. Earlier, speculations had suggested that Mr Scindia was unhappy after the party kept Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath as state's Congress Committee president, in which the former MP was a front runner for the post.
Mr Scindia had lost his Guna seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha election against the BJP candidate. (UNI)
