New Delhi, Nov 25: Congress member Rahul Gandhi on Monday attacked the Centre over the recent political developments in Maharashtra and termed it as "Murder Of Democracy".
As soon as the Question Hour commenced in the Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla invited Mr Gandhi for a question to which he replied, 'I do have a query but since there has been a murder of democracy in Maharashtra, there is no point.' Immediately after assembling, the Congress members entered the well of the House and raised the issue of recent political developments in Maharashtra.
Protesting against the BJP-led government in the state, the Congress members displayed placards that read-- 'Stop Horse Trading, Stop Dirty Politics', 'Save Constitution Save Democracy'. The Lok Sabha Speaker first asked the two Congress Members--- Hibi Eden and T N Prathapan who were holding a huge banner that read 'Stop murder of democracy' inside the well of the House-- to remove the banner. As they refused, the Speaker was forced to order the marshals to remove both the Congress members from the House.
Both the members were seen fist fighting with the marshals.
Massive protests by Congress members in the House over the removal over two Congress members forced the Speaker to adjourn the House from 11.10am till 12noon. The Question Hour was disrupted due the uproar by Congress members over the issue. (UNI)
