CISF detects $14,000 from foreign passenger at IGI Airport

New Delhi, Nov 24: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Saturday detected 14,000 US Dollars, worth around Rs 10 lakh, from an Afghan national at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport.

According to a CISF statement here, the surveillance staff noticed suspicious activities of a foreign passenger at the departure area of Terminal-3 of IGI airport. On thorough checking of his belongings, USD 14,000 in various denominations kept in a small brown sling bag, concealed in the hand bag, were detected.

The accused was identified as Bakhtyari Waheedullah, who was bound for Kabul by a Spice Jet flight. On questioning, he could not produce any valid document in relation to the foreign currency. Later, the accused, along with the recovered currency, was handed over to the Customs Officials for further legal action in the matter, the statement added. (UNI)
