At the Accountant General and Deputy Accountant Generals conclave here, Modi stressed on the fact that the CAG must work in totality and in a holistic manner rather than thinking in fragments.
He said that an institution like CAG cannot be limited to the figures and procedures but will have to come up as a catalyst in the good governance.
The Prime Minister said that CAG played a role in the system that is developing in the country with reference to the time bound delivery of the government projects.
Keeping the economic conduct of the country sacred is also a responsibility of the CAG and it was one of the reasons of high expectations from an institution like the CAG, he told the gathering.
