New Delhi, Nov 9: Hindu Mahasabha lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain on Saturday said the Supreme Court has given five acres of alternate land to Muslims at a prominent place in Ayodhya.
Speaking to journalists after the historic SC verdict, Mr Jain said the five-judge bench has granted the site of the demolished Babri Masjid to the Hindu parties to build a temple, while ordering that the Muslim litigants be given a five acre alternative site to construct a mosque.
He said the apex court had dismissed the pleas of the Nirmohi Akkhara, a party to the case.
The SC ordered that Centre within three-four months formulate a scheme for setting up of a trust and hand over the disputed site to it for construction of temple at the site and a suitable alternative plot of land measuring five acres at Ayodhya will be given to Sunni Wakf Board. (UNI)
