Bangkok, Nov 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a three-day visit to Thailand, will have a series of bilateral meetings here on Monday.
According to sources, Mr Modi will meet his counterparts from Japan Shinzo Abe and Australia Scott Morrison. He will also meet Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The meeting between Mr Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Mr Abe is scheduled around 11am local time while the RCEP Leaders Meet is likely to be held only around 6pm local time. Mr Modi arrived here on Saturday to attend the RCEP meet and ASEAN-related Summits.
On the last day of his stay here, the Prime Minister will attend the 14th East Asia Summit where matters related to Sustainable Development, terrorism, South China Sea, North Korea and Rohingya refugees may figure. Mr Modi will join the leaders of 15 key nations including China, Japan, South Korea and Australia for the crucial third RCEP meet.
A more practical but negative element has gradually seemed to have surfaced at the crucial negotiations for a major free trade pact. (UNI)
