New Delhi, Oct 30: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Wednesday endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the Supreme Court's decision on the construction of the temple on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi site should be accepted with 'open mind'.
'In the coming days, the Supreme Court's decision on the construction of the temple on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi is expected. Whatever the decision, it should accept it with an open mind,' the RSS said on twitter.
RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Arun Kumar said it is the responsibility of everyone that the atmosphere throughout the country remains cordial. The subject is also being discussed in the meeting of key RSS functionaries, he informed.
"From March 30 to November 5, a two-day meeting with the pracharaks was already scheduled in Haridwar. But the pracharak section has been postponed due to some important reasons," he said, adding that it was now being held in Delhi.
In his Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi recalled the situation in 2010 and has said some people had tried to generate tension before Allahabad High Court verdict (on September 30, 2010) by making irresponsible statements, but once the court's order came, the government, political parties and civil society showed restrains and prevented attempts to create fissures.
The five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi on October 16 reserved its judgment, after a marathon 40-day hearing in the case and is expected to deliver the verdict in November.
