New Delhi, Oct 30: Congress on Wednesday clarified that former party president Rahul Gandhi was on a 'meditational visit' abroad, adding that the agitational programmes were decided at a meeting, in which he too participated.

"Rahul Gandhi has gone in the past from time to time on a meditational visit, on which he is currently there, this entire programme was drafted as per his direction and in consultation with him," said AICC communication in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala.

He was responding to a question on the absence of Rahul, while the party was planning a 10-day agitation from November 5-15, against the Narendra Modi Government over the state of the economy. "Rahulji was also present in the meeting, where this programme was taken up."

However, he said, "Neither Sonia Gandhi, nor Rahul Gandhi is  going for state or district agitational programmes."

The party had appointed observers to go from AICC to each state. The agitation would culminate in Delhi, where other Opposition parties had also been invited, he said. (UNI)
