New Delhi, Oct 28 : US envoy to India Ken Juster on Monday paid a visit to Darjeeling region in West Bengal and in Sikkim.
He also held a meeting NGO representatives who are working to counter human trafficking in the region.
"Productive meeting with NGO representatives who are working to counter human trafficking in Darjeeling," he tweeted.
He also wrote that the US government is committed to combating Trafficking in Persons (TIP) with "partners in India and around the world".
In another missive he wrote: "Very much enjoyed my visit to the Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim. A prominent center for Tibetan Buddhism surrounded by beautiful mountains and flowing streams".
He also visited Makaibari tea estate and said it was "a pleasure to taste world famous Darjeeling tea right from the source on the Makaibari Tea Estate, the oldest tea garden in the region".(UNI)
