New Delhi, Oct 28: The ruling BJP on Monday expressed concern at the spread of 'fine dust' in the entire Gangetic plain and said industrial gases, smoke and smog pose a 'big challenge' for environmentalists.
"Entire Gangetic plain, from Delhi to Prayagraj, is engulfed in haze," BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya tweeted.
"The dust laden sky mixed with industrial gases, smoke and smog is a big challenge for environmentalists and agencies," he wrote in the micro blogging site adding - "Of all how does one settle the fine dust, the big killer, which people are constantly inhaling?"
Air quality in the national capital deteriorated post Diwali celebrations on Monday with air quality falling to 'very poor' category.
The average index value in the afternoon stood at 353 at around 1400 hours, according to the Central Pollution Control Board. (UNI)
