PM pays homage to women power, lauds Sardar Patel

New Delhi, Oct 27 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid homage to women power on the occasion of Diwali and also lauded the inspirational life and works Guru Nanak Devji and country's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel.

In his monthly radio broadcast 'Mann Ki Baat' through All India Radio, Mr Modi also paid homage to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi - who was assassinated on October 31 in 1984.

Prime Minister mentioned about 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak to be celebrated on November 12.

The Sikh Guru left his influence globally, he said.

Paying homage to Sardar Patel, Prime Minister said not many would know the illustrious leader's contribution in keeping Lakshadweep as integral part of India.

Without naming Pakistan, he said the western neighbour had set its eyes on Lakshadweep too but quick and prompt action from the Prime Minister thwarted the evil designs. (UNI)
