New Delhi, Oct 18 : The Supreme Court on Friday declined to intervene in a Public Interest Litigation filed in connection with the alleged Rs 40,000 crore scam case involving Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank.

"We are not inclined at this stage to hear the plea filed by the petitioner, Bejon K Mishra," ruled a bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi. The apex court asked the petitioner to approach the High Court concerned, if he wanted any kind of relief. "The petitioner, Bejon K Mishra, is at liberty to approach the High Court concerned, if he wanted any kind of relief in the PMC bank scam case," held the Supreme Court .

Mishra had filed the petition before the apex court and seeking a bailout package, had challenged the restrictions on withdrawal of money by depositors.

The petitioner also sought immediate direction from the Supreme Court to the authorities concerned that the hard-earned money of the investors and depositors of the bank should be fully protected at any cost, immediately. "Please save the hard-earned money of the investors and depositors in the PMC Bank." (UNI)
