Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is staying at Fishermen’s cove, a Taj beach hotel at Kovalam ahead of Mamallapuram, started the second day of his summit meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinpiang on Saturday morning by walking barefoot on the beach.
He picked up plastic during the 30-minute walk and put them in a bag and handed over to hotel staff. In a tweet, Modi said: ''Plogging at a beach in Mamallapuram this morning. It lasted for over 30 minutes. Refreshing walk and exercises in Mamallapuram, along the scenic coast”.
Modi said he handed over ‘my ‘collection’ to Jeyaraj, who is a part of the hotel staff''. “Let us ensure our public places are clean and tidy!'', he said.
