New Delhi, Oct 11 : Almost a month after she sided with Congress, former Chandni chowk MLA Alka Lamba on Friday announced that she will officially take the primary membership of the grand old party.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Ms Lamba said,'Today at 3 pm, I will take primary membership of Congress along with my colleagues at Congress headquarters 24 Akbar Road. I thank Sonia Gandhi, @RahulGandhi and all the members of the Congress family, for once again accepting me as a family member and giving respect.'
After having difference of opinion with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on many issues in the last few months, Ms Lamba on September 6 resigned from the primary membership of the party. She had been with the Congress for 20 years before AAP in 2013. She won the Delhi election from Chandni Chowk.
