Owaisi slams lynching

The All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief, Mr.  Asaduddin Owaisi, has  slammed the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment (UAPA) Act which lets the Centre categorise any individual as a terrorist.

Addressing a rally in Solapur ahead of October 21 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, Mr. Owaisi exhorted: 'The truth is that we (Muslims) are alone in this country. This night is going to be a long one. Those who think that this country belongs to the ideology of Ambedkar and Gandhi, they are alone.'

'Remember this, you are alone. If you think that, you will get support from the Congress, and then let me tell you that you do not need anyone’s support. You should trust only Allah.'

Invoking lynching case of Tabrez Ansari, Mr. Owaisi said: 'Huge amount of hatred has been spread in this country and Jharkhand lynching is one example of the spread.'
