New Delhi, Oct 4 : Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, arraigned in the INX Media corruption case, will have to spend Dussehra inside Tihar jail as the Supreme Court on Friday put his bail plea for consideration for 15th October.
A bench, headed by Justice R Banumathi, also issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation, which is the probe agency in the case regarding alleged malfeasance in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board in 2007 under the watch of the Indian National Congress veteran.
The bench ordered,"We issue notice to the CBI, on the petition of P Chidambaram, who seek bail in the INX media case. The CBI will have to file a reply in the case. We will then hear the matter." (UNI)
