Indianapolis, Oct 2: International stars, including Radhe Jaggi (Bharthanatyam performance), Aparna Satheesan (Kuchipudi), Rajendra Kedlaya (Yakshagana), Anitha Srikant (Bharthanatyam) and Sowmya Harish & Troupe (Kodagu Nritya) will perform in a fundraising event for Cauvery Calling at Sycamore School, 1750 West, 64th Street, Indianapolis, In 46260, on October 4 from 6.30 to 8.30pm.

Cauvery Calling is a large-scale project to support farmers to plant 2.4 billion trees in the Cauvery basin through agroforestry and thus revitalizing the river. All funds raised during this event will go towards Cauvery Calling, an environmental initiative by Isha Foundation to rejuvenate the Cauvery River in Southern India, according to Vidyani Suryadevara.

This fundraising event is a collective effort by local organizations in Indianapolis to revive agriculture, rejuvenate the land, and save the lives of the farmers of the Cauvery basin, which stretches for 800 kilometres north-west to South-east across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. "Cauvery has been the source of wellbeing, prosperity and the very source of life for these lands. A forest-fed perennial river is fast becoming a seasonal stream as 87 per cent of tree cover has been removed in 50 years. Cauvery is calling, do you have a heart to hear?" – Sadhguru said.UNI
