Mysuru, Sep 29 : Union Minister for Fertilisers and Chemicals, D V Sadananda Gowda had an embarrassing moments, when he had arrived here to attend the inaugural ceremony of the world-famous Dasara celebrations, here on Sunday.
The Union minister was upset when some of the security personnel had prevented the minister, who was on his way to the podium of the ceremony, and join the other dignitaries, including Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Union minister Prahlad Joshi and others.
Mr Gowda, who was a little late to make it to the function, was rushing towards the function place, however was stopped by the security personnel stationed near the function place.
The Union Minister who was also a former Chief Minister of the state, had a heated argument with the security personnel, before the senior police officers noticed the lapse, and helped him to reach the podium, where the renowned Writer and Padmashree awardee S L Byrappa was the chief guest.
Mr Gowda, who was upset with the incident, however, chose to leave the inaugural event, midway, the sources said.
Meanwhile, Dr Byrappa, who was the chief guest during the event, had inaugurated the Dasara celebrations, which would last for the next nine days, culminating with the world-famous 'VijayaDashami' procession, on the tenth-day of the Navarathri Utsav.
The grand Vijayadashami day procession, was the successful conclusion of the preceding nine days of Navarathri Festival, which would be witnessed by lakhs of people in which the 'Jambu Savari', wherein a dozens of decorated Elephants would take part in the procession. (UNI)
