New Delhi, Sep 20 :  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called for a unique practice called ‘plogging’ where one jogs and collects trash. through his regular monthly radio programme ‘Man Ki Baat’.

Explaining further, he said that the unique practice of running for 2 km and collecting trash along the way was shared with him by Mr Ripudaman Belvis who explained how to organise this programme.

In his monthly radio programme ‘Man Ki Baat,’ Mr Modi said if 130 crore countrymen will endeavour to make our country free from single use plastic, our country will move forward by 130 crore steps.

He said that the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs is going to organise ‘Fit India and Plogging India on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th anniversary across the country along with 2 km plogging.

“Under this programme, by jogging 2 km, we will keep ourselves fit and collecting trash will make our land litter free India," Modi said.

The country had taken vow to free from single use plastic and we should become a part of this campaign, he added further.(UNI)
