NCP leader Ajit Pawar resigns as MLA

Mumbai, Sep 27 : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar tendered his resignation as an MLA from Baramati on Friday, party sources said here.

No reason has been given for the resignation. Ajit Pawar has been named along with his uncle and NCP President Sharad Pawar by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the alleged Rs 25,000 crore Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank Ltd scam.

The office of Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagade has confirmed that Ajit Pawar had submitted his resignation as legislator and it has been accepted.(UNI)
