Aurangabad, Sep 27: Maharashtra State Assembly speaker Haribhau Bagade on Friday evening confirmed that NCP senior leader and former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar tendered his resignation, which was accepted.
Talking to media in Aurangabad, Mr Bagade said that Mr Pawar himself came to my office and met my PA and submit his resignation around 1730 hours in Mumbai and called me over phone and request me to accept it immediately.
When he was asked about reason of his resignation, Mr Bagade replied that I don't know but when I asked him why you are going to tender his resignation and are you not contesting assembly election? he told me that I did not not want to talk at present on this issue and I would l tell you later.(UNI)
