Prohibitory orders in Mumbai as NCP chief to visit ED

Mumbai, Sep 27: Prohibitory Orders in at least seven areas have been issued by the Mumbai police ahead of Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar's suo Moto visit to the Enforcement Directorate office here on Friday.

In a late-night order on Thursday, the police have imposed the ban under Section 144 of CrPC, banning assembling of five or more persons at a place.The orders have issued in Cuffe Parade, Colaba, Marine Drive, Azad Maidan, Dongri, J J Marg and MRA Marg police Station.

Mr Pawar, he has decided to go to the ED Office at Ballard Estate at 1400 hrs, though the ED has not served summons to him.

It may be recalled that on Thursday NCP supremo appealed to all his supporters and activists not to gather around the ED office, maintain calm, cooperate with the police and investigation agencies and not to inconvenience the public in any manner.
Mr Pawar, named in a money-laundering case by the ED in connection with a scam at Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank.(UNI)
