Kollam, Sep 27: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said, "India will not attack any country, but will not tolerate any attack on the country."
At the 66th birthday celebration of spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi Devi at Amritapuri Ashram here, the Minister said the terrorist attack like that one happened in Mumbai would never happen again.
He said the Pulwama attack happened when he was the Union Home Minister and the nation responded through the Balakot airstrike.
"India will never attack any other nation, but will not tolerate any attack on our nation and its people," Mr Singh added.
Citing security threat to vast coastal area between Kutch and Kerala, he said "the country is committed to ensure coastal and maritime security of the nation."
The Minister also gave away financial aid of Rs 5 lakh each to the 40 families of the CRPF soldiers who were killed in the Pulwama terror attack. (UNI)
