Satellite phone detected from two foreigners at IGI Airport

New Delhi, Sep 25: In a two different incidents at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport New Delhi, one satellite phone and satellite messenger were detected from two foreigners by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Wednesday, an official release said here.

According to the CISF, around 0252 hrs, during Pre-Embarkation Security Check (PESC) at Security Hold Area of Terminal-3, a CISF personnel detected a satellite phone (Qualcomm) from the hand baggage of a Canadian national Juan C Arcila who was bound for Vancouver by Air Canada flight while around 5.30am at PESC.

A CISF duty official detected a satellite messenger (Garmin MINI) from the hand baggage of a foreign passenger namely Jonathan Kesner, an Israel national, bound for Kathmandu by Air India flight. As the satellite phone and satellite messenger are banned in India, both the foreign passengers along with recovered satellite phone and satellite messenger were handed over to Delhi Police for further legal action in the matter, the release added.
