New York, Sep 26: Stating that the fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi does not add value to his country, Antiguan Prime Minister Gaston Browne on Thursday said that after all legal options are over, he could be extradited to India.

"We have country's laws, we have an independent judiciary and the matter of (Choksi) is before court. The executive (the government) does not have any locus on the matter," Mr Browne told Doordarshan. He said criminals also have the right to legal process and maintained that - "After he would exhaust all his legal appeals, he will be extradited".

"He will be repatriated back to India to answer charges....," he said. The fugitive diamantaire was granted citizenship in Antigua and Barbuda in January 2018. Choksi is wanted in PNB fraud case in India. UNI
