New Delhi, Sep 24 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed grief on the loss of lives and damage to property due to an earthquake in parts of India and Pakistan.
"PM expresses condolences to the families of the deceased and prays for the speedy recovery of those injured," a tweet from PMO said.
Earlier reports said rescue efforts were in progress after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, leaving 21 people killed and over 320 injured.
The worst-affected area was Mirpur district of the PoK where 20 people lost their lives and over 300 others wounded while one woman was killed and 20 others injured in neighbouring Jhelum district of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province.(UNI)
