New Delhi, Sep 25 : The NRC controversy left a trail of ripples in the Capital on Wednesday. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rebel Kapil Mishra lashed out at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his dig on BJP MP Manoj Tiwari's demand for a National Register of Citizens in Delhi.
The ex-Karawal Nagar lawmaker asserted that Mr Kejriwal was talking like a misinformed person. He alleged that the Delhi CM was levelling such charges against the people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to save his vote bank that has Bangladeshis and Rohingyas.
Mr Kejriwal reportedly took a dig at Mr Tiwari saying that he will have to leave Delhi first if NRC is carried out here. Manoj Tiwari, who has earlier also called for the verification like in Assam, had again repeated the demand following the fracas in which a journalist was injured on Sunday, which was attributed to 'infiltrators' by the BJP MP. Uploading a video message over Twitter on Wednesday Mr Mishra, upset over the CM's comment, said that NRC is not a Delhi register of citizens. (UNI)
