Etawah, Sep 24 : Train services on the busy Kanpur-Delhi trunk route were disrupted for over an hour on Tuesday morning due to fracture in the rail track near Bharthana railway station.
Due to the incident, the UP track was blocked for about 75 minutes resulted in the blockade of trains such as the Delhi-bound Rajdhani express and other important long distance trains at different stations. Superintendent of Bharthana railway station M P Singh confirmed that rail services on the UP line was disrupted for about 75 minutes and after the repair of the track, trains were being passed with caution.
He said that the fracture was observed near electric pole number 1135/5 at around 6am and thereafter immediately all the trains were stopped at different stations. It took around an hour to repair the track before it was given clearance for the trains. The fracture was of 50 mm, which is a big one.
The track was cleared at around 7.15 am and first the VVIP Rajdhani express trains were allowed to pass. (UNI)
