War will wipe out Pakistan from world map: Kishan Reddy

Agency News

Kakinada, Sep 22 : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on Sunday declared that if war was inevitable, wiping out Pakistan from the world map, would be a certainty.

Participating as chief guest at the National unity campaign on 'Abrogation of Article 370: Correcting a historic wrong,' organised by BJP at the Alumni Auditorium in JNTUK campus here, he said the government would soon take a decision on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) also, in the interest of the Nation, in the true spirit of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

During his one-hour speech, he recalled how after Independence, as many as 520 princely states were merged with the Indian Union by Sardar Patel, but Jammu and Kashmir was conferred a special status by Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru under Article 370.

Describing the decision of Pt Nehru hobnobbing with Sheikh Abdullah as a historical wrong and a curse on the people of the country, Mr Reddy claimed that it took nearly over seven-and-a-half decades to undo the doing of Nehru and the sole credit goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government, which proved its commitment to the 'One Nation-one Constitution,' concept by abrogating Article 370.

He also claimed that it was only the BJP that came to power for the second time after Congress in the post independent period and though not having the required strength in Rajya Sabha, by convincing all the parties, it was able to pass the resolution in Parliament with two thirds majority, abrogating Article 370 there, by bringing the Nation under one Constitution.

'All these years, Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed special status, where the Indian Constitution is not respected and the cross country terrorism was patronised by the leaders there. Lawlessness has ruled the roost all these decades.
'The laws of the land were viewed with scant respect. Fundamental rights, reservations, civil code were alien to the people of Kashmir. Now, all this became the things of the past by the daring step taken by the government by abrogating Article 370 and bringing the entire nation under a single Constitution. It is historical and a matter of pride for every citizen,' he declared, amid repeated applause.

BJP district president Y Malakondaiah chaired the meeting, while Somu Veerraju MLC and BJP National executive committee member Suresh Reddy, state BJP Secretary Chineedi Srinivas, BJP city Secretary Srinivas Kumar, Vice Chancellor, JNTU Anantapur addressed the gathering.(UNI)
